Become a Block Builder: Building Youth One Asset at a Time K-8—Presenter: Teresa Young
Do you want your students to have a happy, healthy, rewarding life? Are you a caring adult willing to teach your students how to reach that goal? Then come learn what the BUILDING ASSETS are and how you can easily incorporate them into library lessons. You can take away something that may make a lifelong impact on the people who come into your library.
Teacher/Librarian Collaboration-Presenters: Dea Borneman and Rebecca Crowder
Creative ideas for teaching a unit on Native Americans. This presentation discusses teacher-librarian collaboration while using a variety of resources including folktales, web sites, scrapbooking, and art. Time will be given at the end of the presentation for attendees to share additional ideas.
Children’s Book Reviews-Presenters: Kristie Gallion and Dea Borneman
The Children’s and Young Adult Book Review Board of Missouri will be presenting children’s books for grades K-6.
Lesson Plan Sharing-Presenters: Southwest Librarians Facilitator-Linda Knight
Librarians from Southwest District will share a lesson with the group. Come to the workshop and take home lesson plans to use with your students immediately.

Checking out books is easy but how do I check out Playaways, audio books, books on MP3 format, videos, magazines, equipment, etc. Bring your questions and ideas to this round table discussion and gain valuable knowledge from your colleagues.
Fair Weather Friends
Do high school students really buy books from book fairs? Is it worth the work to have a high school fair? Do I have a fair through Scholastic, Barnes and Noble, or someone else. If you have ever held a high school fair or wondered if you should, come to this round table discussion and share your ideas and questions with your fellow librarians.
Going clubbing??!!!Book Clubbing, that is! Do you sponsor a high school book club? Do you want to start a book club at your school? We will discuss club ideas, formats for teen book clubs, and ideas for promotion at this round table.
