In Circulation - 2010
On Saturday, February 27th, 2010, Southwest Region Association of School Librarians met at Logan Rogersville Primary School. Our hostesses for the day were Karen Rumker, Tiffney Graham, Alison Boyer, Kerri Cox, and Allison Boyer. The day arrived with sunshine and clear driving conditions. We had 75 registered to attend and started the day with breakfast(donuts provided by Krispy Kreme) and fruit. We then started our workshop sessions. The presenters were great and I appreciate their volunteering to do that for the group. Before lunch, which was catered by Skinner's B.B.Q, we had a brief business meeting. I brought news from DESE. There will two break-out sessions on the GLE's at MASL this spring. The core data report for this year will only require whole numbers, not Dewey sensitive areas. There are 1014 members of MASL, of which 1/5 of the members are from Southwest District. We then elected our new officers for the 2010-2011 year. Julie Hulbert, President; Teresa Young, Vice-President; Jennifer Burton, Secretary; Nicole Bueno, Treasurer; and Bonnie Eiche, Historian were placed in the office. There will be a meeting of Southwest District this spring at the MASL convention. Check the bulletin board for the room number. The time will be Monday night after the Readers Award Banquet. Please try to drop by and meet our members.
